We drove from Adelaide to Alice Springs. Adelaide- Port Augusta- Coober Pedy- Alice Springs. Over 1500 km. It took us about two days.
+1st day (about 3 hrs driving)- Adelaide- Port Augusta
We bought some food and water (It's very important!) in Adelaide and then drove to Port Augusta where there was an information centre about “Outback”.
+2nd day (about 5 hrs driving)- Port Augusta- Coober Pedy
We went to the information centre first. Before the long trip, the most important of all was “Go to petrol station!”. Today we stayed in Coober Pedy. Many places are underground. For example, our backpacker and many churches, a bookstore...etc. Opal is a famous product around here. People said it rained less in Coober Pedy, about 1-2 times a year. Unexpectedly, we met it in the morning we waked up.
+3rd day (about 6 hrs driving)- Coober Pedy- Alice Springs
Don't forget to go to petrol station. All you have to do is stepping on the gas. Everyone will drive across the border between South Australia and Northern Territory. After about 6 hrs driving (in NT, the limited speed is 130km/hr), you will finally arrive Alice Springs where is full of aboriginal and very hot!
Now I have stayed in Alice Springs for more than 10 days. I want to find a job here because it's almost the season with tourists. Bless me! :)
